Welcome to our website! We are the doctors and staff of Southmoor Pediatric Dentistry, and we are glad to provide the following information about ourselves. Our practice is limited to and specializes in dentistry for infants, children, adolescents and the handicapped. Our three doctors are Dr. Brad Smith, Dr. Scott Smith and Dr. John Rubenstrunk, each of whom completed specialty training in pediatric dentistry after dental school. We strive to provide the highest quality dental care for your children, in a gentle and friendly environment. In conjunction with our efforts for our patients, we emphasize good communication with their parents and encourage their participation in our treatment decisions. We provide diagnostic and restorative services for a wide variety of patients, from those with simple dental decay, to patients with extensive caries and complex restorative needs. Many of our patients have complex medical conditions, and we are happy to consult with your physician if need be. But most of all we stress prevention of dental disease as the best and most cost effective approach to dental care.
As pediatric dentists, we are also very involved in monitoring and guiding your child's oral and dental growth and development. We are usually the first to recognize and manage developing malocclusion, and can provide a wide variety of interceptive orthodontic procedures. We also work with a large number of orthodontists and feel it is our job to refer them when it is the right time for each individual patient.
We are available to patients of record for after-hours emergencies; please see our Emergency Care page on this website. New patients can be seen on an emergency basis, preferably by referral from your physician, a friend, or your family dentist. Our staff is experienced and very pleasant to work with; please call if you need in us to help you.
