If a primary tooth is avulsed, which means it is knocked completely out of the mouth, you can apply gentle pressure with a wet washcloth to the socket to help stop the bleeding. It is not advisable to reimplant the tooth, as there is a high chance of infection and damage to the permanent tooth that is developing to eventually replace the baby tooth. Your child should be evaluated by one of our doctors, and an X-ray possibly taken, as soon as convenient.
